A leading logistics company is seeking an Assistant Warehouse Manager to oversee operational functions at their Oak Ridge location. This role involves managing customer relationships, supervising staff, ensuring safety practices, and maintaining supplies. Ideal candidates will have a strong administrative background and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
As an Assistant Warehouse Manager, also known as Assistant Reusable Asset Depot (RAD) Manager, you’ll get to handle all administrative and operational functions for the designated location, travel to other company locations for additional on-the-job-training and could eventually relocate to another company location permanently to manage the site! We want this person to grow into a vital piece of one site and take their leadership to other sites if necessary!
Shift: Fri, Sat, Sun,Monday;6am - 4:30pm (Once training has been completed)
The Training Schedule will be floating as to familiarize one to the different commodities, employees, and shifts.Schedule could change on temporary basis's dependent on staffing, volume, and customer needs.Learn how to and assist with managing customer relationships for Relogistics Services
Work with the On-Site Manager (OSM) to set shift/operating schedule to best service the local customer(s)
Assist with recruiting, developing, and managing employees
Ensure company policies regarding Safety and HR are followed
Order and maintain supplies and arrange for office equipment maintenance
Assist employees with general administrative questions regarding employment, pay, benefits, etc.
Perform basic financial data entry
Assist with forklift driver duties, including but not limited to all other sorting duties of all commodities/Departments as needed
Track movements in a timely/legible manner on the proper forms
Assist in managing employee relations issues, locally, in conjunction with the OSM
Other duties as assigned
High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
3 or more years of related administrative and operational experience
1-2 years of previous management and/or supervisory experience is required
Previous experience working in a manufacturing, supply chain/logistics, or distribution environment is preferred
Desire and ability to provide excellent customer service to all levels of the organization as well as to visitors and customers
Forklift certifications required
Must possess a valid driver’s license to allow for travel to various company locations, if required by the company
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products required
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

Ability to work in extreme conditions to include, but not limited to, elements, heat, cold, and air particulate
Commodities Sorters are required to adjust body position to bend repetitively, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, lift, and stand for entire shifts of varying lengths. Fill in on production lines duties when needed
Forklift operators are required to sit for long periods of time. Fill in on forklift duties when needed
The noise level in the work environment is dependent on location
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (eye protection, ear protection is mandatory at several locations, safety shoes)
Specific vision abilities required by this job include, close vision, distance vision and color vision
Must have a good sense of balance & good eye-hand-foot coordination
May be required to lift pallets by hand, each weighing between 50 lbs. to 75 lbs.
