Position Summary

Reports to the Warden. Supervises staff including classification, mailroom, laundry, food service, maintenance, chaplain, and others. Manages security, classification, food service, mailroom, maintenance, disciplinary, risk management, religious activities, and laundry functions, ensuring compliance with MTC and TDCJ directives.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate administrative and program activities.
  • Train staff, evaluate performance, and implement organizational changes.
  • Develop and monitor budgets.
  • Develop and revise policies and procedures.
  • Support staff and offenders in compliance with policies.
  • Manage staffing and shift assignments.
  • Oversee offender classification reports.
  • Ensure proper staff selection processes.
  • Oversee laundry, religious services, grievance processes, food service, maintenance, and mailroom activities.
  • Promote positive social skills and model appropriate behavior.
  • Maintain accountability and safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
  • Nine years of correctional or criminal justice experience, including five in supervision.
  • At least two years of supervisory experience as a mid-level manager.
  • Valid driver’s license in Texas with an acceptable record.
