Job summary

DREAM is seeking a reliable Middle School Volleyball Assistant Coach to support structured practices and game-day activities in East Harlem or the South Bronx. You will help implement drills, supervise students, and reinforce positive behavior under the Head Coach and Dean of Student Life.

This role starts immediately with Monday-Thursday sessions from 3-6pm at DREAM locations, offering a stipend per season for full-time DREAM staff and room for growth through the DREAM Teaching Fellowship.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years of coaching or youth program experience preferred.
• Experience working with school-age children required.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of structured, high-quality practices and lead when the head coach is not present.
• Execute drills and activities with clarity, energy, and detail.
• Reinforce expectations for behavior, effort, and participation.
• Support students in managing emotions and resolving conflicts.
• Model positive behavior and uphold team standards.
• Maintain active supervision at all times and ensure safe arrival/dismissal procedures.
• Communicate safety concerns to the Head Coach.
• Assist with attendance tracking for practices and games.
• Follow school protocols on eligibility and participation.
