Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a coach in Minnesota to lead and develop student-athletes. The role involves teaching fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training to help teams win and players grow in confidence.

The coach will model fair play per the MSHS League Code of Ethics, regularly attend competitions, and stay updated on rules and new coaching approaches to drive program success.

Qualifications

• Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport.
• Continuing to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the sport.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Instruct athletes on fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training for success.
• Demonstrate behaviors leading to character development, self discipline, confidence, and pride of accomplishments in student athletes.
• Perform duties as assigned by head coach or athletic director.
• Generate an attitude of fair play in line with the Minnesota State High School League Code of Ethics.
• Attend all competitions and training sessions.
• Instruct student/athlete in rules, rule changes, new developments and innovative ideas in coaching.

Duties

• Instruct athletes on fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for individual and team success
• Demonstrate and instruct behaviors that lead to socially acceptable character development, self discipline, confidence, and pride of accomplishments in student athletes
• Perform various duties as assigned by head coach or athletic director
• Generate an attitude of fair play for adhering to the Minnesota State High School League “Code of Ethics”
• Be in regular attendance at all competitions and training sessions
• Instruct student/athlete in rules, rule changes, new developments and innovative ideas in coaching

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of all athletic policies and implementation by the entire staff on the program
• State and league regulations; implements the same consistency with all staff
• Have understanding knowledge of rules and regulations as presented by the Minnesota State High School League.
