Reports To: The athletic director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in conjunction with the principal.
Job Goal: To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. The coach must also promote socially acceptable character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride of accomplishment in student athletes.
Performance Responsibilities:
General: The success of athletic programs influences the community's image of the system. Public exposure is significant, and community/parent pressure for winning performance is high, but good sportsmanship and mental health must remain priorities. The position involves extended time, risk of injury, and due process considerations. Coaches should exercise good judgment in all cases.
