Job summary

Atlas Search is seeking an Assistant Vice President to join its Tax team in New York City. This high-visibility role offers broad exposure on a lean team, leading strategic tax projects and collaborating with senior leaders across finance, legal, treasury, and operations.

You will own ASC 740 provision processes, oversee tax footnote disclosures with corporate accounting, and review allocations and returns prepared by outside advisors. Hybrid role: three days in Midtown office.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of tax experience in public accounting or a mix of public and private.
• Hands-on ASC 740 provision experience is required.
• CPA preferred.
• Asset management or management company experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the quarterly ASC 740 provision process from current and deferred tax calculations through rate reconciliations, return-to-provision, and FIN 48 documentation.
• Partner with corporate accounting on tax footnote disclosures.
• Review purchase price allocations, basis differences, quarterly estimates, K-1s, and federal, state, local, and international returns prepared by outside advisors.

Our client, a well-established global alternative investment manager, is seeking an Assistant Vice President to join their dynamic Tax team in New York City. This is a high-visibility role on a small, fast-paced team focused on management company and corporate tax. Because the team runs lean, you’ll gain broad exposure, lead strategic tax projects, and work directly with senior leaders across finance, legal, treasury, and operations. This hybrid role requires three days a week in the Midtown office and offers excellent work-life balance, low turnover, outstanding benefits, and a strong culture of promoting from within.

The annual base salary range is $155,000 to $185,000, with total compensation up to $240,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
