Job summary

Montefiore Health System is seeking an AVP of Operations & Network Development for the Faculty Practice Group. The AVP will lead physician enterprise growth, network expansion, and operational transformation across 200+ practice locations in the NYC metro area, reporting to the VP of Operations & Network Development.

Reporting to senior leadership, the role oversees business development, practice acquisitions, and integration of new services, with a focus on access, capacity, and performance

Qualifications

Position Summary:

Montefiore Health System is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven executive to serve as Assistant Vice President (AVP), Operations & Network Development within the Faculty Practice Group (FPG).

One of the largest physician groups in the New York metropolitan area, Montefiore’s Faculty Practice Group (FPG) is a network of more than 200 physician practice locations providing patient-centered care in the Bronx, Westchester, Manhattan, and Western Connecticut covering 26 specialties and sub-specialties. The Faculty Practice Group brings together thousands of physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and associates who deliver coordinated, patient-centered care to more than 2.2 million patients annually, supporting Montefiore Einstein’s mission to improve the health of the diverse communities we serve.

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations & Network Development, the AVP provides executive leadership for initiatives that advance the strategic growth, operational performance, and continued evolution of Montefiore Einstein’s Faculty Practice Group. This leader oversees physician enterprise growth initiatives, including business development, practice acquisitions, network expansion, and operational transformation efforts.

The AVP works closely with physician leaders, department chairs, unified administrators, and executive stakeholders to translate organizational priorities into action, leading complex initiatives that improve access, strengthen operations, and support sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead physician enterprise growth initiatives, including practice acquisitions, network expansion, new site development, and practice transitions.

• Develop business plans, operational strategies, and recommendations to support growth opportunities and investment decisions.

• Partner with physician leaders, department chairs, unified administrators, and executive stakeholders to advance organizational priorities and execute cross-functional initiatives.

• Serve as a key liaison for operational and network development efforts, fostering strong relationships across Montefiore Einstein and with external partners.

• Oversee the planning, implementation, and integration of new practices, services, and operational initiatives.

• Provide leadership to multidisciplinary teams responsible for project management, operational planning, and change initiatives.

• Collaborate with access, capacity management, and clinical operations leaders to improve patient access, provider productivity, and practice performance.

• Leverage operational, financial, and performance data to evaluate opportunities, measure outcomes, and support informed decision-making.

• Drive continuous improvement efforts that enhance operational effectiveness, patient experience, and organizational performance.

• Prepare executive communications, business cases, and performance reports to support leadership decision-making.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred.

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience within a complex, matrixed academic medical center, physician enterprise, or large integrated health system with a strong physician component.

• Demonstrated success leading ambulatory operations, physician enterprise initiatives, business development, network growth, acquisitions, or other large-scale healthcare transformation efforts.

• Proven change agent with experience leveraging systems thinking and data analytics to drive operational excellence, quality, financial performance, patient access, and organizational growth.

• Experience leading quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives that enhance clinical quality, patient experience, employee engagement, and operational effectiveness.

• Knowledge of Epic scheduling processes and Cadence workflows.

• Exceptional relationship management, communication, and executive influencing skills, with the ability to build trust and drive alignment across a highly matrixed organization.
