Job summary

The Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra is seeking an Assistant/Utility Horn to support the Principal Horn and Section Horns as needed. This role has the right of first refusal for all services requiring the Assistant/Utility Horn, with the season running September to August and performances mainly from Labor Day to Memorial Day.

Compensation is $137.32 per service, with a guaranteed minimum of 28 services per season, plus 20% extra per service for doubling when applicable, and two paid absences.

• Professional musician with horn expertise.
• Experience in orchestral settings and ensembles.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Principal Horn and Section Horns as needed.
• Play in the orchestra’s concerts and events as required.
• Support services during the season with reliability and musicianship.
