Job description

Assistant Track Supervisor - Mingo Junction, OH

Primary Purpose:

Performs track inspections on an assigned territory to ensure a safe, efficient, and reliable infrastructure network at minimal cost. Assists with training and supervising track employees within the territory.

  • Inspects all assigned tracks, including company and customer-owned, as required by company and federal regulations. Detects abnormalities in track structures and determines the appropriate corrective actions to ensure safe train movement without unnecessary delays.
  • Assumes the responsibilities of the manager on alternate weekends and holidays, and during the manager's absence.
  • Prepares inspection reports, assists with correspondence, material requisitions, charge-outs, payroll approvals, procurement, and credit card reviews.
  • Helps plan and organize work within the authorized budget for the territory.
  • Must possess FRA certification for track/bridge inspection, RWIC qualification, and knowledge of Norfolk Southern Safety and Operating Rules.
