About the role

Reporting directly to the Head Track and Field Coach, you will join a collaborative team dynamic alongside other coaches and colleagues across campus. Your primary athletic focus will be leading and developing our horizontal jumps program. This unique role also includes overseeing the daily operations, programming, and student staffing of the Student Recreation Center (SRC).

What you’ll do

Additional Athletic Department Responsibilities – 40%

  • Oversee the daily operations and programming of the Student Recreation Center (SRC), ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for students and other users.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to support wellness initiatives and recreational programming.
  • Assist with other departmental needs and responsibilities as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Player Recruitment – 20%

  • Identify, evaluate, and recruit student athletes who excel athletically, academically, and personally.
  • Assist the head coach in maintaining roster sizes.

Program Management – 20%

  • Assist the Head Coach with practice planning, organization, and implementation.
  • Assist the head coach with game preparation and implementation.
  • Assist the head coach in aligning with MIAC and NCAA policies.
  • Assist the head coach with all program logistics.

Player Development – 20%

  • Assist the head coach with player development athletically, spiritually and academically.
Salary Range

$46,700 – $47,174 per year

Qualifications

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Education

  • Master’s degree

Required Experience

  • 1+ years of experience coaching Track and Field at the NCAA Level OR
  • 3+ years of experience coaching Track and Field at the High School Level

Preferred Experience

  • 3+ years of experience coaching Track and Field at the NCAA Level
  • Experience as a highly competitive student-athlete

Expected Hours of Work

This is a 40‑hour per week, 12‑month per year position. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with flexibility for evenings and weekends, especially during the peak season of January through May.
