Job summary

Lyons USD 405 is seeking an Assistant Coach for high school and middle school programs. The role supports the head coach in instruction and development, emphasizing sportsmanship, safety and student growth.

The assistant will help with equipment, communicate with the school and parents, and uphold USD 405 policies and expectations. Ideal candidates will have a teaching certificate or be actively pursuing one, with knowledge of the sport and familiarity with KSHSAA rules.

Qualifications

• Teaching certificate preferred.
• Knowledge of fundamentals of the sport/activity.
• Knowledge of KSHSAA rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of USD 405 policies and expectations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during scheduled practices and performances.
• Maintain professional relationships with Head Coach, administration and parents.
• Provide safe, educational, competitive environment for practices and performances.
• Communicate effectively with school office, media and parents.
• Be a role model for students and athletes at all times.
• Assist with inventory and maintenance of equipment and uniforms.
