The Town of Chapel Hill seeks an Assistant Town Attorney to provide wide-ranging legal counsel and representation for the Town. You will advise the Town Council, Town Manager, and departments while collaborating with multiple stakeholders to advance equity and social justice values.
The position reports to the Town Attorney, may involve supervising staff, and allows remote work with supervisor approval. A Juris Doctorate and NC licensure or reciprocity are required or preferred.
Full Pay Rage: $129,504.00 - $207,207.00
Hiring Range: $129,504.00 - $168,356.00

A Town employee that reports to and works at the direction of the Town Attorney. The Assistant Town Attorney will handle a wide variety of legal matters. The attorney will work with a variety of stakeholders including the Town Manager’s office, department heads, and the Town Council, and will aid the Town in its service to a highly engaged community. A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited school of law is required. History of strong academic achievement preferred.
Experience:
Preferred 10 years of experience as a practicing attorney performing relevant, high-level legal work; or comparable legal teaching experience; or a combination thereof.
