Job summary

Lotus Learning Center in Nashville is seeking an Assistant Teacher to help deliver a nurturing, play-based program under the Education Director. You will support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive growth through responsive, caring interactions, and you will contribute to an emergent, project-based approach that respects each child’s interests.

Requirements include a clean background check, ability to lift up to 40 pounds, CPR/First Aid certification, and health screening.

Qualifications

• Must pass a full criminal background check.
• Must clear health screening.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of professional child care experience.
• Child CPR and First Aid certification is required.

This position reports directly to the Education Director.

What You'll Do

• Participate in the development and implementation of a child-centered curriculum that promotes a love of learning
• Engage with children in a way that encourages social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth, and fosters a sense of joy and wonder
• Build trusting relationships with children and support their social-emotional development through responsive and nurturing interactions
• Maintain a safe and clean indoor and outdoor learning environment, ensuring the well-being of all children
• Actively contribute to staff meetings and professional development opportunities, enhancing their own skills and knowledge
  

Requirements

• Must pass a full criminal background check

• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential is preferred for Toddler Teachers; Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred for Preschool Teachers; High School Diploma (required)
