LeafSpring Schools is seeking an Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood education team. You will work with the Lead Teacher to create nurturing, safe, and engaging learning environments for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, implementing play-based activities and building routines.

We value a passionate, patient educator who supports social, emotional, and cognitive development while maintaining strong communication with families and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• CDA or enrollment in Early Childhood Education courses preferred but not required.
• Friendly, patient, and enthusiastic about working with young children.

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines including circle time, story time, snack, outdoor play and rest time.
• Assist with lesson planning and curriculum implementation based on children’s needs.
• Supervise children during transitions, group play, and hands-on activities.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom aligned with state licensing regulations.
• Encourage independence and social interaction through positive guidance strategies.
• Observe and document children’s behavior and milestones for families and team.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to create an inclusive learning environment.

Your Role as an Assistant Teacher

As an Assistant Teacher, you’ll work closely with the Lead Teacher to deliver a nurturing, safe, and educational classroom environment for infants, toddlers, or preschool-age children. You’ll help implement play-based learning activities, manage classroom routines, and provide individualized attention that supports each child’s social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily routines including circle time, story time, snack, outdoor play, and rest time
• Assist with lesson planning and curriculum implementation based on children’s developmental needs and interests
• Supervise children during classroom transitions, group play, and hands-on activities
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment aligned with state licensing regulations
• Encourage independence, self-help skills, and social interaction through positive guidance strategies
• Observe and document children’s behavior and milestones for communication with families and the teaching team
• Provide age-appropriate support for infants, toddlers, or preschoolers, depending on assigned classroom
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a supportive, inclusive early childhood learning environment

Qualifications

• Previous experience in child care, preschool, daycare, or toddler education (preferred)
• Understanding of child development principles and developmentally appropriate practices (DAP)
• Friendly, patient, and enthusiastic about working with young children
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Ability to multitask, follow classroom structure, and adapt to children’s needs
• High school diploma or GED required
• CDA or enrollment in Early Childhood Education courses (preferred but not required)
