Job summary

Missouri Department of Transportation in Jefferson City seeks an experienced assistant to the state design engineer for right-of-way policy development and procedures governing acquisition of right of way, outdoor advertising, junkyards, and scenic byways.

The role directs district and division staff to ensure timely program delivery and regulatory compliance under supervision. Applicants should have a strong background in right of way policy and supervisory responsibilities with MoDOT.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provides direction to district and division staff regarding all aspects of right of way, outdoor advertising, and junkyards, to meet program delivery timelines and compliance with laws.
• Approves and executes lease agreements, excess property sales, and administrative settlements.
• Executes offer letters, acquisition payrolls, sales agreements, and right of way fee services contracts.
• Drafts, reviews, interprets, and negotiates unique right of way contracts and agreements, including those with other state and federal agencies.
• Approves conditional and partial right of way clearance certifications to advance projects to letting.
