Overview

Assistant To The Dean Of Major Academic Area at Louisiana State University (LSU). Remote in Baton Rouge, LA, United States. This professional role provides high-level administrative support to the Dean, manages a broad range of tasks and projects, and acts as a key liaison for the school’s operations and events.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the dean's calendar and schedule; prepare correspondence; maintain and organize records and files critical to day-to-day operations.
  • Arrange all domestic and international travel for the dean.
  • Serve as an ex-officio member of the Manship Alumni Board, including logistics, attendance at meetings, and event planning.
  • Collaborate with the school\'s national Board of Visitors; assist with school events such as the Hall of Fame, 1913 Society Dinner, symposia, award ceremonies, and related activities.
  • Provide accurate information to inquiries about the school from campus departments, the business community, and the general public; be familiar with Manship School policies.
  • Hire, train, and schedule student workers for the Broadcast Lab; process hires for student workers working with faculty and/or other staff.
  • Serve as a backup to the HR Specialist with basic understanding of HRM, payroll, and some accounting functions.
  • Assist with researching information for accreditation efforts and other requirements (ACEJMC).
  • Attend faculty meetings; take on additional duties and projects as assigned by the dean.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree.
  • One year of professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in business, public relations/mass communication or related discipline.
  • Two years of professional experience in an administrative assistant role.
