Salary: $45,000 – $60,000 DOQ
Status: Full-Time / Exempt (Salaried) / At-Will
The City of Bronson is seeking a dedicated, highly organized dynamic administrative professional to serve as the Assistant to the City Manager. Working under the direct supervision of the City Manager, this role provides high-level administrative, operational, and research support across all municipal departments. The ideal candidate will handle diverse responsibilities ranging from zoning reviews and budget administration to special project management, public relations, and acting on behalf of the City Manager in their absence.
Operational & Administrative Support: Assist in managing daily municipal operations, research and draft ordinances or special reports, support strategic planning, and serve in a versatile capacity to meet departmental needs.
Zoning & Development: Conduct site plan and zoning reviews and prepare reports under the direction of the City Manager/Zoning Administrator.
Cross-Departmental Coordination: Facilitate citywide projects, assist with budget development/administration, and compile financial and operational data.
Public Relations & Intergovernmental Relations: Act as a liaison to community members, business leaders, elected officials, and media; prepare press releases; and represent the City on designated committees.
Executive Representation: Attend Commission, board, and committee meetings, and act as City Manager when assigned.
This position primarily operates in a standard office setting, with occasional local travel for site inspections or meetings. Requires the ability to sit, communicate effectively, handle office equipment, and occasionally stoop or lift light-to-moderate equipment.
