Responsibilities

  • Serve as on-site technology leader for assigned buildings; ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly.
  • Assist with user accounts (Entra ID, Active Directory, Google Workspace) and manage logins.
  • Manage Chromebooks, Windows, and Apple devices using Google Admin Console, Intune/Entra ID, Mosyle, and Action1.
  • Oversee district filtering/monitoring (Securly, Cisco Umbrella) for assigned buildings.
  • Plan and deliver professional development for faculty on classroom tech and district systems.
  • Support cybersecurity tasks, training, and log reviews as per ACT 504, 846, 754.
  • Maintain asset inventory and document support requests in the ticketing system.
  • Coordinate summer deployment tasks for devices.

Assistant Technology Director

JOB GOAL: The Assistant Technology Director supports the Technology Director in overseeing the district's educational and administrative technology. Assumes responsibility for providing hands‑on, building‑level leadership of technology operations—including device deployment, classroom technology, cameras, VoIP phones, and end‑user support throughout assigned buildings—while sharing responsibility with the Technology Director for select district‑wide functions, including cybersecurity, professional development, and testing technology coordination. Reports directly to the Technology Director for day‑to‑day technology operations and building‑level issues.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 220‑day contract based on certified salary schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in K12 Education with three (3) years of technology‑related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals, including access control, backup verification, and incident response.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate support and training content to all levels of personnel in a support‑driven, customer‑oriented manner.
  • Must be able to lead and deliver effective professional development to adult learners.
  • Ability to develop, implement, maintain, and evaluate preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Skill set to work in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional documents, and to present information to administrators and staff.
  • Must be willing to submit to and pass a background screening and drug test.
  • Acts professionally and treats all district staff and students with respect.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.   • Serves as the on‑site technology leader for assigned buildings/campuses, ensuring day‑to‑day technology operations run smoothly.
  • Assists with user accounts in assigned buildings including Entra ID, Active Directory, Google Workspace, and WIFI; creates, updates, and troubleshoots login access.
  • Manages Chromebooks, Windows devices, and Apple devices within assigned buildings using Google Admin Console, Microsoft Intune/Entra ID, Mosyle MDM, and Action1.
  • Manages district sites for filtering and monitoring (Securly and Cisco Umbrella) for assigned buildings.
  • Conducts continuous facility walkthroughs to identify and resolve technology anomalies before they become issues.
  • Install and oversee VoIP phones, intercoms, bell schedules, and 70V speaker systems for assigned buildings, ensuring highest possible uptime.
  • Oversees security cameras, NVRs, and door access control/key fob administration for assigned buildings.
  • Assists with digital signage, video network content, and student ID badges for assigned buildings.
  • Works with the testing coordinator on State mandated testing, such as ELPA and ATLAS, to ensure smooth operations and minimize technology‑related downtime.
  • Supports EAST operations and provides technical support and student mentorship within district EAST labs.
  • Reviews and recommends hardware/software needs and compatibility for assigned buildings, reporting findings to the Technology Director.
  • Maintains a 100% accurate asset inventory of all district hardware and technology equipment.
  • Logs in detail, updates, and closes out all support requests inside the district's IT ticketing system.
  • Pulls and terminates Cat6A network cabling and coaxial cabling through ceilings, walls, and conduits.
  • Installs and maintains network connections (wireless access points, wall boxes, network jacks) and troubleshoots physical‑layer network issues.
  • Mounts IP cameras, maintains NVRs, and diagnoses, repairs, and images Windows laptops, Windows desktops, Apple iMacs, Apple MacBooks, and Chromebooks.
  • Configures and maintains hardware inside specialized environments (e.g., Business Lab iMacs, Media Center laptops, DLC Lab desktops, Elementary Lab Chromeboxes) and classroom technology (interactive panels, sound systems, building TVs, HDMI‑over‑CAT6 extenders).
  • Executes high‑volume summer deployment tasks: unboxing, imaging, provisioning, and distribution of new student and staff devices.
  • Plans, schedules, and delivers professional development for faculty and staff on classroom technology tools, educational software, and district systems, maintaining a professional development calendar.
  • Assists the Technology Director with cybersecurity‑related tasks, training, and log reviews as stated in ACT 504, 846, and 754.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
