Job summary

St. Edward's University invites applications for the Assistant Technical Director in the Mary Moody Northen Theatre. The ATD collaborates with the Technical Director and production teams to implement technical theater elements for scenic designs, sound, props, and lighting across MMNT productions and courses.

MMNT operates under an Equity agreement and emphasizes safety, collaboration, and student mentorship within a dynamic production environment on campus in Austin, Texas.

Qualifications

• BFA or BA in technical theater or related field is required.
• Two years of professional experience in a professional scene shop or related theater experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Support the MMNT Technical Director and staff on scenic, sound, props and lighting production elements.
• Assist with construction and load-in of productions and manage scene shop projects.
• Analyse designs, estimate costs, and confirm build plans with TD and designers.
• Maintain safe working environment and ensure compliance with safety policies.
