Job summary

Lucky Brand is seeking an Assistant Technical Designer to develop basic technical expertise in evaluating apparel for fit, style and construction to meet quality standards.

You will collaborate with Design and Pre-Production, complete product packages in Flex PLM, establish fit and construction standards, and participate in fit sessions. This role requires strong communication, attention to detail and the ability to work cross-functionally to support development and production timelines.

Qualifications

• College degree in related field required.
• 1+ years of Technical Design or related experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of garment construction and manufacturing processes.
• Strong eye for proportion, balance and aesthetics.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present fit orally and in writing.
• Proactive problem solving and ability to multitask in a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Design and Pre-Production teams to determine fit and aesthetics.
• Complete product packages in Flex PLM, including measurements, construction details and technical sketches.
• Establish and maintain fit and construction standards for brand consistency and quality.
• Review fit history and suggest alternative construction methods when needed.
• Prepare and participate in fit sessions and communicate issues to partners.
• Coordinate with IBO, vendors and cross-functional teams to meet timelines.

Assistant Technical Designer develops basic technical expertise to assist in evaluate apparel merchandise in terms of style, measurement and construction to achieve the appropriate fit, quality and design interpretation for the manufacturer to follow.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Design and Pre-Production teams with guidance from Sr. Technical Designer or Technical Design Lead to determine fit and aesthetics.
• Complete product packages in Flex PLM software, including measurements, construction details and technical sketches.
• Establish and maintain fit and construction standards to ensure brand consistency and quality.
• Review with the Sr. Technical Designer or Technical Design Lead fit history when presenting current fit and recommend alternative methods of construction or options for components when necessary.
• Prepare and actively participate in fit sessions.
• Resolve and communicate fit and construction issues to International Buying Offices and factories within the development and production timelines.
• Daily communication and follow through with IBO, vendors, and all cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• College degree in related field required.
• 1 + years of Technical Design or similar experience is a plus.
• Some knowledge of garment construction and manufacturing process.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
