Job summary

AMO Denim, a Los Angeles-based premium women’s denim brand, is seeking a detail‑oriented Product Development & Production Coordinator to support development timelines and coordinate samples from domestic and overseas factories.

You will liaise with Product Development, Production, patternmakers, and cutters to ensure markers, tech packs, and fittings move smoothly. 1–3 years experience in apparel production is preferred, with strong organization and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in apparel production, product development, technical design, or sample coordination; denim experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of the apparel development process, including samples, fittings, tech packs, specs, markers, cutting, sewing, and TOP approvals.
• Experience working with patternmakers, marking and grading teams, cutters, sewing contractors, vendors, or overseas factories.
• Ability to read and understand basic tech packs, spec sheets, fit comments, and production documents.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple styles, samples, deadlines, and priorities at once.
• Excellent attention to detail, especially when labeling samples, measuring garments, tracking statuses, and maintaining records.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable following up with internal teams and external vendors to keep development and production moving forward.

Responsibilities

AMO Denim is a Los Angeles–based premium women’s denim brand founded in 2014. Known for intentional design, refined fit, and an easy feminine aesthetic, AMO creates denim designed to be worn, loved, and lived in.

The brand sources denim from one of the finest mills in Italy and partners with local Los Angeles manufacturers who value craftsmanship and attention to detail. Each style is carefully developed, with washes tested and refined to achieve an authentic broken-in feel without appearing overworked. With denim at the center of its creative expression, AMO is recognized for thoughtful detailing, high-quality construction, and timeless pieces that feel both modern and effortless.

Responsibilities include:

Product Development & Production Coordination

• Partner closely with the Product Development and Production teams to gather updates, monitor progress, and support development timelines.
• Ship samples to overseas factories and provide tracking information to vendors as needed.
• Coordinate sample deliveries to the patternmaker and arrange sample returns.
• Maintain and organize all development and production samples on the sample rack, ensuring samples are clearly labeled, easy to locate, and accessible for reference.
• Support communication between internal teams, vendors, factories, patternmakers, cutters, and sewing contractors to help keep styles moving through the development process.

Pattern & Maker Coordination

• Follow up with the Pattern and Marker teams to ensure markers are completed on schedule.
• Pick up sample plot markers from Marking & Grading.
• Print tech packs and organize them with the appropriate pattern cards.
• Create purchase orders for cutting and deliver markers to cutters.
• Once cut bundles are received from Cutting:
• Create purchase orders for sewing.
• Deliver cut garments to the sewing contractor.
• Provide required trims, sew‑by samples, and any supporting materials needed for construction.

Sample & Development Tracking

• Receive sewn garments from domestic contractors or samples from overseas factories and route them to the Design team for construction and wash comments.
• Organize samples for fittings and maintain the Fit List.
• Track the status of each style throughout the development process.
• Maintain and update the TNA chart to reflect current status, deadlines, and next steps.
• Follow up on outstanding samples, comments, approvals, and deliverables to help ensure development milestones are met.
• Trim, press, and prepare samples prior to fittings.
• Measure all points of measure according to the latest approved spec sheet.
• Update the Fit List and prepare the fitting area.
• Ensure all samples are clearly labeled with style number, size, and current status.
• Take clear and organized photos during fittings for documentation and future reference.
• Enter updated specs and fitting photos into WFX.
• Create and maintain fitting folders by fitting date, ensuring all photos and documents are properly labeled.
• Send TOP approval emails for domestic production.
• Upload final TOP spec sheets and corresponding photos into WFX.
• Support follow-up on fit comments, approvals, and sample revisions as needed.

Basic Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in apparel production, product development, technical design, or sample coordination; denim experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of the apparel development process, including samples, fittings, tech packs, specs, markers, cutting, sewing, and TOP approvals.
• Experience working with patternmakers, marking and grading teams, cutters, sewing contractors, vendors, or overseas factories.
• Ability to read and understand basic tech packs, spec sheets, fit comments, and production documents.

• Willingness to assist with physical sample handling, including organizing racks, transporting samples, trimming, pressing, and preparing garments for fittings.
• Positive, proactive, team‑oriented attitude with a strong sense of ownership and follow‑through.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with premium denim or women’s apparel.
• Familiarity with garment construction, wash development, and fit terminology.
• Experience measuring garments and supporting live fittings.
• Knowledge of domestic Los Angeles production processes.
