Job summary

Adecco Creative is partnering with an iconic NYC Fashion House to recruit for a temp to perm Assistant, Tech Design role. This hybrid position is based in Midtown Manhattan and offers hands-on experience in turning creative concepts into production-ready accessories.

The ideal candidate will have a fashion or design background, 0–2 years of technical design experience, strong Illustrator and basic Photoshop skills, and a keen eye for details, measurements, and construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Fashion Design, Accessories Design, Industrial Design, Product Design, or related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in technical design, accessories design, product development, or related field; internships welcome.
• Strong Adobe Illustrator skills; Photoshop proficiency a plus.
• Ability to create clear and accurate technical drawings.
• Basic understanding of product construction, measurements, materials, hardware, and manufacturing.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work within a seasonal development calendar.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative mindset with a willingness to ask questions, learn, and take initiative.
• Interest in men’s accessories, including bags, small leather goods, belts, and other lifestyle accessories.

Responsibilities

• Support the Technical Design team from concept through production.
• Create and update detailed technical packs with measurements, construction details, materials, hardware, artwork, and specifications.
• Create accurate technical sketches and product illustrations using Illustrator.
• Review prototypes and development samples for construction, measurements, functionality, and execution.
• Record sample comments and communicate revisions to partners and vendors.
• Maintain organized tech packs, specs, sample info, and development records.
• Collaborate with Design and Product Development to translate design intent into finished products.
• Assist with hardware, material, trim, and component specifications.
• Track samples and follow up on development needs to meet calendars.
• Participate in fittings, sample reviews, and cross-functional meetings.
• Identify construction/execution issues and help develop solutions.
• Stay aware of accessory construction, materials, hardware, and industry trends.

Assistant Technical Designer – Men’s Accessories

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Assistant Technical Designer to support the development and execution of our Men’s Accessories collection. This role will partner closely with Design, Product Development, and cross-functional teams to help translate creative concepts into accurate, production-ready products. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in accessories, an understanding of product construction, and a willingness to learn the technical development process. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who is excited to build their technical skills while working in a fast-paced, collaborative design environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Technical Design team throughout the product development process from initial concept through production.
• Create and update detailed technical packages, including measurements, construction details, materials, hardware, artwork, and product specifications.
