Job Description

The Assistant Tech Imaging reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Assistant Tech Imaging provides support to technologists, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals related to Imaging Services. This role is key in coordinating patient flow within imaging departments. Responsibilities include setting up exam/procedure rooms before patient arrival, verifying paperwork and physician orders, escorting patients, assisting technologists, nurses, or physicians during exams/procedures, and processing films and paperwork for completed exams.

Responsibilities
  • Caring for patients throughout treatments or procedures, following department and hospital standards, age-specific sensitivities, and Patients' First guidelines.
  • Preparing procedure rooms and systems support, including explaining exams to patients and answering questions, with knowledge of MR Safety when applicable.
  • Assisting in preparing patients and procedures, processing CDs, lifting and escorting patients, and maintaining competencies in lift equipment.
  • Coordinating patient care based on departmental protocols, communicating with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow, and reconciling physician orders.
  • Preparing paperwork, verifying patient information, monitoring schedules, and managing outside films and documentation.
  • Recognizing and reporting issues, using scheduling systems like Radnet and PACS proficiently, and maintaining supplies and equipment.
  • Following policies for department efficiency, organizing work, providing clerical and technical support as directed.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • CPR Certification (BLS)
  • Physical ability to lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pounds

Preferred:

  • Experience in healthcare delivery
  • Bilingual skills
