Colorado Mountain College is seeking a part-time, seasonal Ski Team Assistant Coach to support the Head Coach with snow training, conditioning, and logistics from approximately October 1 to March 1. This role involves travel, safety policy adherence, and coordination of team activities within the college program.
Preferred candidates will have NCAA/USSA/FIS rules knowledge, alpine competition experience, and strong teamwork and communication skills, plus a Colorado driver’s license.
Under the general supervision of the Ski Team Head Coach, willassist the Head Coach of the Ski Team with all operational dutiesassociated with the ski team. Assist Head Ski Coach with teampractices, depending on assistant's individual expertise.
Please note, the position is scheduled to work from approximatelyOctober 1st to March 1st.
*This is a part‑time, seasonal position. As per the AffordableCare Act (ACA) guidelines, the role is not eligible for benefits typically provided to full‑time employees. Employment duration andhours worked may vary based on seasonal business needs. Theindividual hired for this position will not hold any other role atCMC during the year and will only be employed in this seasonal roleto meet ACA seasonal employment requirements.
Education and experience sufficient to meet the rigors of theposition. Examples may include an Associate Degree and one-yearrelated work experience or consider a two year college certificate,and two years related work experience, or a High School Degree/GEDand three years of related experience, or the equivalentcombination of education and experience.
Experience with regional and national alpine competition, knowledgeof NCAA/USSA/FIS rules and compliance, along with strong teambuilding and communication skills preferred.
Knowledge of: outdoor athletic team sports management; snow skiingprinciples, modern ski racing tactics and techniques, practices andmethods; ski and mountain equipment, safety and rescue systemsprocedures; team‑building and facilitation; marketing and salesmethods; budget administration P-Card reconciliation and logisticsmanagement. Ideal candidates will have experience with regional andnational alpine competition, knowledge of NCAA/USSA/FIS rules andcompliance, along with strong team building and communicationskills.
Ability to: manage and coordinate multi‑faceted activities;collaborate with diverse populations; excellent verbal andinterpersonal skills; organize, prioritize, and work independently;qualify and maintain a Colorado driver’s license. The ski coachwill be required to drive high occupancy vehicles for teamtransportation and events.

The hiring pay rate is $ 30.11 per hour. Benefits includeretirement contribution, annual and sick time, mental healthresources, and tuition benefit. CMC utilizes a wage progressioncompensation model that accounts for a candidate’s skill andexperience. Although a hiring rate is listed, this will be setcommensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications and incompliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.

The position reports to a designated supervisor. Position usuallyworks within the framework of responsibilities but may requireguidance at times.
Position has no supervisory responsibility.
Successful completion of a background check including a motorvehicles records report required. Incumbents in this position willadhere to all safety and compliance policies of Colorado MountainCollege while performing all duties assigned.
This position requires travel and evening/weekend hours in unusualcircumstances, sometimes under difficult weather and environmentalconditions; possession of or ability to possess and maintain avalid Colorado driver’s license. The incumbent will be required todrive high occupancy vehicles (HOV) for team transportation and events.
An altered work schedule including evenings and weekends and travelwithin CMC service area may be required at times, based on positionresponsibilities.
This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking,standing and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling;frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements;occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability toreason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally. Work isperformed using a computer and standard office equipment daily anddriving a vehicle occasionally.
