Responsibilities

The Assistant Team Leader assists in maintaining a clean, organized store and supports the Store Team Leader in creating a customer-first store culture. Key duties include supervising employees, managing merchandise presentation, performing stocking and cashiering, and ensuring customer satisfaction and store profitability.

  1. Provide excellent customer service, assist customers, operate cash register.
  2. Support a customer-first store culture.
  3. Model product knowledge and maintain a safe, clean environment.
  4. Merchandise the store appealingly, rotate products to attract customers.
  5. Educate staff about products to enhance the shopping experience.
  6. Maintain cleanliness and organization standards.
  7. Participate in opening and closing the store at least twice weekly.
  8. Assist in employee scheduling, training, and safety meetings.
  9. Manage merchandise receiving, stocking, and displays.
  10. Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages and markdowns.
  11. Implement plan-o-zones and ensure proper product presentation.
  12. Ensure financial integrity through cash handling and security procedures.
  13. Assist customers at self-checkout and manage store in the absence of the Store Team Leader.
Qualifications
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform basic math and cash handling procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety policies and store operations.
  • Ability to operate register and store tools.
  • Problem-solving skills and customer interface experience.
  • Strong merchandising abilities and inventory knowledge.
Experience & Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in retail and supervisory roles preferred.
Physical & Working Conditions
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 40-55 lbs.
  • Exposure to various environmental conditions including weather and cleaning products.
