Job Title: Bridge Inspection Assistant Team Lead


We are seeking a Bridge Inspection Assistant Team Lead to oversee and coordinate inspection teams. This role requires leadership in scheduling, mobilization, and logistics, as well as conducting field operations and technical evaluations of bridges and related structures.


Responsibilities


  • Supervise inspection teams and report to project managers.

  • Organize the scheduling of inspections, mobilization, and equipment logistics.

  • Perform and lead inspections of bridges and related structures.

  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols while working at heights using ladders, under-bridge vehicles, man lifts, and bucket trucks.

  • Conduct structural evaluations and sign off on inspection reports.

  • Prepare detailed reports, calculations, and documentation.

  • Utilize AutoCAD/MicroStation for drafting and Microsoft Office for reporting.

  • Assist in planning, access coordination, and resource allocation.

  • Collaborate with government agencies, such as the Port Authority and NJDOT, and complete required RPA training.


Essential Skills


  • 2-5 years of bridge inspection experience as an Assistant Team Lead.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/MicroStation.

  • Ability to travel to project sites across NJ.

  • Experience in load calculations.


Additional Skills & Qualifications


  • NICET certification in bridge inspection.

  • Experience with engineering principles and civil engineering practices.


Work Environment

The role involves being on project sites for an average range of 6-8 weeks at a time. The candidate can operate out of headquarters located in Secaucus or Freehold. When not on a project, the candidate has the flexibility to work from home. The company has been established for 20 years, offers competitive benefits, a salary raise of 4-5 percent per year, a yearly bonus structure, and the ability to take a company vehicle home.
