The College of Fine Arts invites applicants for a Non-Tenure Line faculty position available beginning August 2025. The Assistant Teaching Professor of Student Success will instruct on-campus courses in the SOAR (Success, Opportunity, Aspirations, Readiness) program and collaborate with the Director of Student Success on other college initiatives and activities focusing on preparing students for career and educational success and increased student enrollment and retention.

Salary and benefit packages for this position are competitive, with salaries for this opportunity beginning at $50,000 annually.

Description
The Assistant Teaching Professor of Student Success will instruct on-campus courses in the SOAR (Success, Opportunity, Aspirations, Readiness) program and collaborate with the Director of Student Success on other college initiatives and activities focusing on preparing students for career and educational success and increased student enrollment and retention.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Teach SOAR classes (CFA 111, 222, 333) focusing on student success and career preparation; course load to be determined based on semester offerings

  • Ensure the SOAR course content stays up-to-date and effective

  • Participate in organizing and attending student success activities such as New Student Orientation, Weeks of Welcome, CFA Talks, FAME, and any new events/initiatives that are created

  • Collaborate with campus partners to ensure effective integration and adaptation of their offerings for CFA students

  • Offer ongoing support and referral services to students, utilizing Navigate360 to notate interactions and track services

  • Other duties as assigned as it relates to the growth of Student Success within the College of Fine Arts

  • Evening and weekend work may be required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution

  • At least 24 months (three academic years) of undergraduate-teaching experience

  • Strong communication skills

Authorization to work in the USCandidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in an arts related field

  • At least 40 months (five academic) years of undergraduate teaching experience

  • Prior experience in an academic student support area (tutoring, mentoring, etc) or counseling or education

  • Knowledge of the industries involved within the College of Fine Arts; art, music, theatre, dance
