Job Description and Position Requirements:

The assistant teaching professor title requires a terminal degree. This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal, 36 weeks, starting August 5, 2025, or as negotiated.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach up to four courses (12 credits) each semester, using traditional, hybrid, and online methods.
  • Support a baccalaureate Computer Science degree program offered across three Penn State campuses: Beaver, Brandywine, and Hazleton.
  • Collaborate with faculty, teach traditional and distance courses, and share curriculum across campuses.
  • Teach courses such as programming fundamentals, data structures, object-oriented programming, systems programming, computer organization and design, theory of computation, operating systems, programming languages, and electives.
  • Engage in professional development, advise students, participate in service activities, and contribute to curriculum development.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching and service.
Qualifications:

Minimum of a Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited institution.
