Job summary

East Gate Kids Learning Center in Albuquerque, NM is seeking an Infant Teacher Assistant to support daily care routines and classroom flow under the guidance of a Lead Infant Teacher. This full-time role focuses on safety, social-emotional development, and engaging, play-based learning for infants.

You will contribute to a calm, predictable environment, participate in trainings, and collaborate with a professional team to ensure high-quality, relationship-centered care for families and children.

Qualifications

  • Two years of professional childcare/teaching experience.
  • Knowledge of child development and play-based learning.
  • High energy, creativity, and compassion for children and families.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to collaborate in a mission-driven team.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with NM guidelines and Reggio Emilia approach.
  • Lead and inspire classroom team while mentoring assistants and interns.
  • Foster creativity and curiosity through nature-based learning for social-emotional and cognitive growth.
  • Communicate with families via daily updates, progress reports, and conferences.
  • Ensure compliance with state licensing, FOCUS standards, and center policies.
  • Document learning through observations, plans, and portfolios.
  • Engage in trainings and professional development to grow teaching craft.
  • Support a classroom culture of safety, belonging, curiosity, and joy.

Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of professional childcare or teaching experience.
  • Knowledge of child development and play‑based learning.
  • High energy, creativity, and compassion for children and families.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a purpose‑driven, mission‑minded team that values excellence and heart.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A CDC, AA, or BA in Early Childhood Education or be actively pursuing one.
  • Or, actively seeking to earn a degree in Early Childhood Education through the ECECD Scholarship or similar program.
