Job summary

Catholic Charities of Fairfield County seeks a full-time Assistant Teacher for Room To Grow (RTG), a licensed preschool for ages 3–5. You will support the Lead Teacher and help children develop socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's in ECE/Child Development or Human Development. Alternatively, degree in a related field with 12+ college credits in ECE/Child Development.
• Minimum two years of experience in a licensed preschool, child care center, or comparable setting.
• Familiarity with CT ELDS, NAEYC standards, and CT licensing requirements preferred.
• Commitment to ongoing professional growth and education.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in planning, implementing, and evaluating learning experiences.
• Foster children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.

Job description

Room To Grow (RTG), a state-licensed and NAEYC-accredited preschool program of Catholic Charities, is seeking a full-time Assistant Teacher to join our team immediately. RTG provides high-quality early childhood education and care for children ages 3–5.

Required Educational Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Human Development; OR
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a related field plus at least 12 college credits in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum two years of experience in a licensed preschool, child care center, or comparable early childhood setting.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices.
• Familiarity with CT ELDS, NAEYC standards, and Connecticut OEC/DPH licensing requirements preferred.
• Commitment to ongoing professional growth and education.
