The Goddard School in Goodyear, AZ is seeking an energetic Assistant Teacher to support our Pre-K program and join a 5-star Cognia-accredited school with award-winning faculty.

You will assist the Lead Teacher in delivering engaging lessons, support children's development, and maintain a safe, stimulating classroom while collaborating with a supportive team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Experience in licensed childcare/preschool setting expected.
• Shows empathy and compassion for young children.
• Works productively without supervision and understands child development.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher with implementing age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Support children's social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through engagement and positive interactions.
• Prepare classroom materials and ensure a safe, clean, inviting learning environment.
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster belonging.
• Communicate with families about children's progress and daily activities.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations to ensure a secure environment.

This position is from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and requires a minimum of six months of experience in a licensed childcare facility.

Assistant Teacher Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred
• Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
• Shows empathy and compassion for young children
• Works productively without supervision
• Basic understanding of child development
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
• Must pass required state background checks and meet state minimum education, experience and credential requirements
