Job summary

FirstHealth of the Carolinas seeks an Early Childhood Education Assistant to support classroom operations in accordance with NC guidelines and Center policies. You will help deliver a developmentally appropriate curriculum using Creative Curriculum and NC Foundations for Early Education, while ensuring a nourishing learning environment for each child.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the creation and development of a developmentally appropriate curriculum for the classroom using Creative Curriculum & NC Foundations for Early Education.
• Assists in the planning and preparation of the learning environment to meet cognitive, physical, emotional & social needs of the individual child.
• Provides services with consideration of the recipient’s needs.
• Assists in the operation of the classrooms according to State and local governing agencies, Center policies, NCRLAP (ITERS/ECERS) guidelines.

Qualifications

NC Early Childhood Credentials preferred with a minimum of 1 year classroom management experience. Willingness to obtain the NCECC within the first year of employment may be considered.

• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift children. Ability to move quickly in emergency situations, and interact energetically with children. Ability to withstand extensive standing, stooping, bending, and squatting. Ability to communicate with other individuals. Potential exposure to communicable diseases and/or blood/body fluids
