The Goddard School of Stony Brook, NY, is seeking a motivated Assistant Teacher to join our caring team. You will support the Lead Teacher in delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons and help manage a safe, stimulating classroom environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Early Childhood Education credentials preferred.
• Experience with young children in licensed childcare or preschool is preferred.
• Shows empathy and compassion for young children.
• Basic understanding of child development.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and pass state checks.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Support children's social, emotional, cognitive and physical development.
• Prepare classroom materials and maintain a safe, inviting learning space.
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children.
• Communicate with families about progress and daily activities.
• Follow health, safety, and licensing guidelines.
• Support daily care routines to promote a nurturing environment.
