The Goddard School of Edina, Mn is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in creating engaging programs, managing the classroom and ensuring a safe, stimulating environment. Bring energy, enthusiasm and creativity to our supportive, collaborative team.

The role involves implementing age-appropriate lesson plans, supporting children's development, preparing materials, supervising, communicating with families, and adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education preferred but not required.
• Previous licensed childcare or preschool experience required.
• Must pass state background checks and meet state requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions
• Prepare classroom materials and ensure a safe, clean and inviting learning environment
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging
• Assist in communicating with families about their child’s progress and daily activities
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations to ensure a secure environment
• Support daily care routines and tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment
