Since 1899, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has been providing quality social services to the neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Queens. We currently offer over 160 programs and services for children, youth, adults, seniors, and those struggling with mental illness. Our Early Childhood Development Centers provide free Early Head Start and Head Start services to low-income families. Head Start serves children aged 3 to 5 years old. Using the Montessori approach, we ensure children are prepared for school through developmentally appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, language-literacy, and physical development.
The Head Start (HS) Assistant Teacher will support the Teacher in planning and implementing activities aligned with the Montessori curriculum. Responsibilities include assisting with documentation to meet compliance standards of CCNS, ACS, DOH, CACFP, and other agencies, facilitating parent involvement, and promoting professional growth. The candidate must adhere to policies of CCNS, ACS, DOH, DOE, and CACFP, and maintain standards of attendance, punctuality, and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
