The Goddard School of Greenpoint, located at 85 Commercial Street, Brooklyn, NY 11222, seeks an Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood team in a newly built, 10,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art learning environment designed with children and educators in mind.

Using our Wonder of Learning curriculum, you will assist in daily activities, inspire young minds, and collaborate with a supportive team committed to high-quality early childhood education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting.
• Shows empathy and compassion for young children.
• Works productively without supervision.
• Basic understanding of child development.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions.
• Prepare classroom materials and ensure a safe, clean and inviting learning environment.
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging.
• Assist in communicating with families about their child’s progress and daily activities.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations to ensure a secure environment.
• Support daily care routines and tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment.

Our School is a newly built, state-of-the-art, one-story, 10,000-square-foot learning environment designed with children and educators in mind.
