Job description

Bright Light Academy is seeking an experienced assistant teacher to join our teaching teams. The ideal candidates will have at least two years of experience working with young children, preferably between the ages of three and five years old, be a team player, and have a passion for early learning. Candidates MUST qualify as an Assistant Group Supervisor with DHS to be considered. CDA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with other teachers to plan and implement daily lesson plans and activities.
2. Create a safe and stimulating classroom environment for the children in your care.
3. Monitor and engage with children during playtime, meals, personal hygiene, and other routines.
4. Provide individual and group support to children as needed.
5. Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development and progress.
6. Complete child assessments and participate in parent/teacher conferences.

Qualifications:

1. Two or more years of experience working with children aged 2-5.
2. Must qualify as an Assistant Group Supervisor or Group Supervisor with DHS.
3. Pass state, federal, and child abuse background checks.
4. Able to pass a drug test.
5. Be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
8. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, see, hear, and sit on the floor with children.
9. Patience, nurturing qualities, and ability to create a positive learning environment.
10. A CDA or higher in Early Childhood Education, Children & Families, or Child Development is preferred.

Position Overview:

1. There is room for growth in this role with funding from the state to further staff's education in the early learning field.
2. This is a full-time, year-round position.
3. Pay range starts at $17-$18 per hour ($33,500 - $35,500 annually), depending on experience and education, with potential increases based on performance and education after a 90-day probation period.
4. Full-time staff receive paid holidays, PTO, sick leave, dental and vision insurance, reduced child care rates, and more.
5. Work schedule is a four-day work week.
