Job summary

St. Stephen’s Community House in Columbus, OH is seeking an Assistant Teacher for the Christ Child Early Learning Center. You will support the Lead Teacher, tailor activities to meet diverse learners, and nurture a respectful, inclusive classroom environment.

Responsibilities include nutrition education, licensure compliance, and strong family engagement. Requirements include an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education (Bachelor preferred), 1–2 years in a child/youth setting and

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or higher.
• 1–2 years of experience with children in a care setting.
• 1–2 years of customer/public service experience.
• CPR, First Aid and related trainings required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher in planning and implementing daily activities.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse development levels.
• Foster a nurturing classroom culture and respectful care.
• Promote healthy eating and nutrition lessons aligned with USDA/CACFP.
• Maintain licensure compliance and respond to concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with staff and build strong relationships with families.
