Job summary

Children of America is seeking an Assistant Teacher to join our nationwide early childhood education team. In this role you’ll work alongside Lead Teachers to create a safe, nurturing classroom where children can learn, grow, and feel valued.

This position offers competitive pay of $12.98–$16.46 per hour, a 50% employee childcare discount, and opportunities for career advancement, training scholarships, and benefits as you move toward Lead Teacher.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
• Ability to work well with children, families, and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily classroom activities and lesson plans.
• Support age-appropriate learning activities and instruction.
• Help establish a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment.
• Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Build positive relationships with children and their families.
• Communicate professionally with parents, teachers, and management.
• Assist with documenting children's development and progress.
• Help maintain consistent classroom routines and expectations.
• Respond to children's individual needs with patience and empathy.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom.

Final compensation is based on experience, skills, geographic location, and internal equity. This position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives and/or additional benefits.
