Job summary

The YMCA is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support the lead teacher in care, education, and safety of children at the Macedonia, OH site. This position is part-time and non-exempt, focusing on embodying the values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith in daily activities.

The role involves assisting with meals, naps, behavior guidance, and maintaining licensing records while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and Step Up requirements.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Official transcripts preferred.
• Medical examination within twelve months prior to first day of employment.
• Complete FBI and BCI background checks.
• ODJFS orientation within ninety days of starting employment; Step Up trainings every 2 years (20+ hours).

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with activities, meals, snacks, and naptime.
• Maintain a safe, clean classroom at all times.
• Assist with classroom behavior guidance and follow lesson plans.
• Attend to toileting needs and supervise feeding when needed.
• Maintain licensing records and meet ODJFS/Step Up requirements.
• Attend staff meetings and required trainings.
• Other duties as assigned.
