Qualifications

  • Must have a valid Class 1 Georgia driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Assist teacher in preparing materials for lessons.
  • Assist teacher during lesson plan implementation.
  • Provide supportive environment for children to learn and practice appropriate behaviors.
  • Maintain classroom regulations per state guidelines.
  • Perform housekeeping duties and sanitizing as required.
  • Follow closing checklist duties and communicate with parents/guardians.
  • Adapt to classroom routines and participate in staff development as needed.

# Assistant Teacher CDCThe Arc of SWGA - Albany, GA 31707## OverviewSalary Range$10.00 - $10.00 HourlyPosition TypeFull-Time/Part-TimeJob ShiftDayEducation LevelHigh School/GED## DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:Assist all teachers in providing and educationally enriching and stimulating environment where experience is designed to develop self-esteem and positive self-image, social interaction, self- expression and communication skills, creative expressions, and intellectual growth.Non- Exempt Position.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAssist teacher in preparing materials for lessons.Assist teacher during lesson plan implementation.Provided a supportive environment in which children can learn and practice appropriate and acceptable individual and group behaviors.Maintain regulations of classroom in accordance with state guidelines.Perform basic housekeeping duties, which may include vacuuming, cleaning tables, disinfecting toys, and following proper handwashing, diaper changing, and toileting guidelines.Perform miscellaneous job-related duties.Follow and complete closing checklist duties.Communicate effectively with parents and guardians.Able to adapt to classroom routines.Maintains current CPR/1st Aid training, as well as any required staff development training.Other duties as assigned.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.OTHER KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:He/she must be a mature person who is friendly, caring, and who can communicate well. Also provides an activities environment and an instructional setting in addition to a place to conduct business and personal interviews with the consumers’ families and professionals.
