Salary Range: $11.23 - $13.01 Hourly
Head Start Assistant Teacher

Crossroads Youth & Family Services, Inc. is seeking a Head Start Assistant Teacher for its Bethel location in Pottawatomie County. The role involves creating a warm, attractive, and challenging learning environment for young children, incorporating developmentally appropriate activities tailored to the needs of both the group and individual children.

Education, Experience, License, and Knowledge

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum one (1) year of full-time early childhood experience in a licensed program, plus one (1) year of college credits with six (6) semester hours in early child development or related courses; or
  • Current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential

License:

  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable liability insurance

Knowledge:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards
  • Computer literacy and ability to operate office equipment
  • Mathematical skills for calculations

Physical, Mental, and Environmental Requirements:

Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and tuberculosis test. Background checks are required. Ability to perform physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodations will be provided for individuals with disabilities.
