Assistant Teacher (Annualized/School Year)

Under immediate supervision, is responsible for assisting a classroom teacher in planning and implementing learning experiences that promote the intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development of four-year-old students enrolled in the City's Pre-K 4 SA program at the Education Centers. Assists the teacher with classroom preparation and the daily growth and development of students. Exercises no supervision.

This position is funded by sales tax approved by the citizens of San Antonio for a limited time. Therefore, it is subject to at-will employment, is unclassified, and has no disciplinary appeal rights to the Municipal Civil Service Commission.

Work Location

Varies depending on departmental needs.

Work Hours

8:15 a.m. - 5:15 p.m., Monday - Friday. Schedule may vary based on departmental needs.

The position requires working 217 days per year (including 13 holidays) for a total of 1,736 hours annually.
