Job summary

The Goddard School located at Miramar, FL 33025 is seeking an energetic Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons. You will help manage the classroom and create a safe, stimulating environment that fosters each child’s growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Previous experience in licensed childcare or preschool setting.
• Empathy and compassion for young children.
• Ability to work productively without supervision; basic understanding of child development.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and pass state background checks.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Support children's development across social, emotional, cognitive and physical domains.
• Prepare classroom materials and maintain a safe, clean learning environment.
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster belonging.
• Communicate with families about progress and daily activities.
• Adhere to health, safety guidelines and licensing requirements.
• Support daily care routines to promote a nurturing learning environment.

Assistant Teacher Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions
• Prepare classroom materials and ensure a safe, clean and inviting learning environment
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging
• Assist in communicating with families about their child’s progress and daily activities
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations to ensure a secure environment
• Support daily care routines and tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred
• Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
