Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a full-time Assistant Teacher for the Pen Bay Creative Learning Center in Rockport, Maine. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, as they will support an infant classroom and work alongside a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• Completion of foundational-level early childhood trainings or college courses preferred.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification preferred; CPR and First Aid Certification required within 30 days.
• Teaching/caregiving in group childcare/preschool setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Assistant Teacher

The Pen Bay Creative Learning Center is seeking a full‑time Assistant Teacher to join their team! The ideal candidate demonstrates a passion for working with children. This position will support an infant classroom. Responsibilities

The Assistant Teacher role is responsible for assisting the classroom teacher in providing comprehensive, developmentally appropriate care and education for young children in cooperation with families, co‑teachers, and administrators based on current standards of best practice in the field of early childcare and education.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Completion of foundational-level early childhood trainings or college courses preferred.
2. License/Certifications: Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification preferred. Current community/caregiver-level CPR Certification and First Aid Certification preferred or must complete within 30 days of start date.
3. Experience: Teaching/caregiving in group childcare/preschool setting preferred; Experience with the Creative Curriculum and NAEYC Accreditation preferred.
4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Minimum age of 18 years of age.
