Summary:

MaineHealth Pen Bay Creative Learning Center is looking for two caring and dynamic assistant teachers to join our childcare team in Rockport. We offer competitive pay and an excellent benefits package that includes generous paid time off. Childcare staff work 4-day work weeks and receive and additional state stipend of $240+ per month. Experience with teaching or caregiving in a group setting, especially with infants and toddlers, is preferred.

The Assistant Teacher role is responsible for assisting the classroom teacher in providing comprehensive, developmentally appropriate care and education for young children in cooperation with families, co-teachers, and administrators based on current standards of best practice in the field of early childcare and education.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Completion of college courses preferred.
2. License/Certifications: Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification preferred. Current BLS Certification and First Aid Certification preferred or must complete within 30 days of start date.
3. Experience: Teaching/caregiving in group childcare/preschool setting preferred; Experience with the Creative Curriculum and NAEYC Accreditation preferred.
4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Minimum age of 18 years of age.
