Job summary

CMCS (Cardinal McCloskey Community Services) seeks an Assistant Teacher to provide classroom coverage in the absence of teachers and to support classroom functions across multiple sites under education staff supervision.

The role includes active supervision of children birth through age 5, participation in daily educational activities, and record-keeping to support Head Start program goals. Experience in Head Start or early childhood education is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma and CDA Credential or an Associate in Early Childhood Education.
• Up to 1 year of relevant experience with birth-5 in a classroom preferred.
• Early Childhood/Head Start experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom coverage in the absence of teachers.
• Support various classroom functions at all sites under guidance of education staff.
• Active supervision of children and participation in daily educational programs.
• Perform record-keeping and facilitate developmental activities for Head Start success.

As an Assistant Teacher, you will play an integral role in providing classroom coverage in the absence of teachers and supporting various classroom functions at all of our sites under the guidance of our education staff. Our Assistant Teachers will also responsible for active supervision of children, participate in daily educational programs, record-keeping, while providing a variety of skills and facilitating developmental activities for the continued success of the Head Start- program.

Requirements:

• Caring, upbeat personality.
• HS Diploma and Child Development Association (CDA) Credential or an Associate in Early Childhood Education.
• Up to 1 year of relevant experience working with children ages birth-5 in a classroom setting preferred.
• Early Childhood/Head Start experience is preferred.
