**Responsibilities**
Throughout the day Co-Teachers engage with the programs in ways that:
+ Assist lead teacher in the delivery of quality program, support and services for children and families accessing the childcare and early childhood education programs of CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health.
+ Aid in planning, preparing and delivering lesson plans, special activities and provocations that facilitate active learning consistent with the philosophies and objectives of CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health.
+ Support in preparing and maintaining a safe, healthy, inviting, nurturing and engaging environment for all children, families, and colleagues.
+ Maintain positive and proactive approaches to discipline and student behavior in accordance with the behavior policy, plans and mindful philosophies endorsed by CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health.
+ Support the Class Teacher in maintaining and regularly communicating accurate and complete records to students, colleagues and parents regarding students' progress, development, and needs as appropriate.
+ Assist in updating all necessary records accurately and completely on students and activities as required by laws, policies and school regulations.
+ Assist in multiple classrooms if/when the position requires it.
+ Encourages parent and community involvement.
**Qualifications**
**Education (including licenses, certifications):**
+ A high school diploma or a general educational development certificate and 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field.
+ A.A/A.S degree in early childhood education / teaching from an accredited institution preferred.
**Experience required and preferred:**
+ Minimum of 1 year experience working with children in a childcare setting in an assistant teacher or teacher capacity..
+ Bi-Lingual (Spanish) strongly preferred.
+ Experience with setting and tracking outcomes in a human service field.

+ Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
+ Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
+ Creative in their approach to their job.
+ Demonstrate an understanding of inquiry and play-based learning models.
+ Demonstrate an understanding of the cultural and social barriers that can exist when accessing health-related services.
+ Physical Requirements: Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a hand-held learning device and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
+ Promote a positive team-based approach to care and learning.

**Pay Range**
$18.34 - $25.21 /hour
