For over twenty years, Love and Learning Child Care Center has been a vibrant, nurturing early education center committed to helping children grow through love, structure, outdoor creative play and hands‑on learning. We are currently seeking a compassionate, dependable Assistant Teacher to join our team and support our mission of providing high‑quality care in a safe and inspiring environment.

Position Overview

As an Assistant Teacher, you'll work closely with lead teachers to create a fun, engaging, and educational space for children. Your role is essential in supporting daily routines, maintaining safety, and contributing to each child’s social and emotional development.

Qualifications – Required by the State of North Carolina

• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED required
• Enroll in the NC Early Childhood Credential (NCECC) course within 6 months of hire
• Must be able to read and write in English

Training & Certifications (can be completed after hire)

• Completion of 20–30 hours of early childhood training
• CPR & First Aid Certification
• ITS‑SIDS Training
• Recognizing and Reporting Child Maltreatment

Experience (preferred but not required)

• 400 hours working with school‑age children in a licensed program
• 600 hours in an unlicensed camp/youth program
• Early childhood coursework (2+ semester credits)

Additional Requirements

• Pass a criminal background check and fingerprint screening
• Provide a TB test and proof of physical health
• Complete orientation training within the first 2–6 weeks of employment
• Participate in ongoing professional development (10+ hours/year)
