Job summary

Kindergarten Round-Up Childcare LLC in Detroit, MI is seeking a caring and energetic Assistant Teacher to join our team.

You will work alongside Lead Teachers to provide a safe, nurturing classroom, support daily routines, supervise children, and participate in activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience with children preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Ability to pass background checks and Michigan childcare licensing requirements.
• Must complete required childcare trainings.

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Teacher with daily classroom routines, lesson plans, and activities.
• Actively supervise and engage with children throughout the day.
• Participate in reading, arts and crafts, learning activities, outdoor play, and play-based learning.
• Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
• Assist children with meals, toileting, handwashing, transitions, and other routines.
• Use positive guidance and age-appropriate behavior management techniques.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, sanitized, welcoming classroom.
• Communicate professionally with parents, coworkers, and management.
• Follow health, safety, sanitation, and licensing requirements.
• Assist wherever needed to run the classroom safely.

About the Role

Kindergarten Round-Up Childcare LLC is looking for a caring, dependable, and energetic Assistant Teacher to join our team in Detroit, MI.

Our Assistant Teachers work alongside Lead Teachers to create a safe, nurturing, structured, and engaging environment for children. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children, works well as part of a team, and is ready to be actively involved in the classroom.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher with daily classroom routines, lesson plans, and age-appropriate activities.

Requirements

• Ability to follow directions and work cooperatively with the Lead Teacher and other staff.
• Ability to pass required background checks and meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Willingness to complete all required childcare trainings.
